About me

I was born in Walsall, West Midlands, in England. I moved to Germany in 1988. I am a bi-lingual English Trainer, fluent in both English and German. My pedagogical experience covers a period of over twenty years. During this time, I acquired the certificate in the undergraduate’s course with the Open University in ‘Approaches to Adult Learning.’ Jean Pohl

Within this time, I digressed to retailing. However, the experience of customer service gathered both as an employee and a self-employed person, served to improve the knowledge and quality of my lessons.

I focus on the area of Adult Education. I teach English to private students and groups, ranging from Beginners to Advanced levels and Business English. I have facilitated seminars in ‘The Language of Meetings and Presentations’ and ‘Job Search Training’ in English.

As I view learning as a continuous process, I continued my professional development by achieving the Cambridge CELTA certificate and have participated in further vocational training, such as the workshop ‘Teaching So That Learners Can Learn’. This was run by the ELTA-Rhine association of which I am a member. At the moment, I am taking part in the Train-the-Trainer course modules in order to achieve the CLTC-C (Communication and Language Trainer Certificate – Corporate).

I believe that learning can be a pleasant and fun experience, when delivered in the right manner. In my teaching practice, I aspire to make my lessons as such for both parties.
